How can someone say that they are a professional stager if they're not??
Well, I have learned some tips that I'll share with you and hope that they help in some way.
First, if the people have lived there over 5-7 years, go through every room and remove a minimum of one piece of furniture.
Second, get rid of bold colors. Most Buyers can see themselves in a home where there are more neutral and soothing colors. Not every, just most.
Third, Remove clutter, whether it's on the walls, counters, furniture. If you are trying to sell the house, don't you think it would be better if you were showing the house off instead of the accessories, like that beautiful, lovely art from your trip (or your Seller's trip, rather, if it applies) to Japan, or Europe?
Fourth, put something in the house that will stay and be a magnet for Buyers.....examples, a new front door that is very attractive (with glass, but not too much for privacy lovers, think classy and sophisticated!!), a special pendant chandelier that is custom and in the entry, or in the bedroom... cool lighting (recessed, track or otherwise). Other things may be exquisite landscaping, front and back, including colored flowers (goes without saying!!), plants, trimmed trees and possibly mow curbs.
Any of these (or all and then some!!!) should help you sell your home or listing.
Good Luck out there.
